R1 - ARENA
The arena (R1) is based on the Franco-Belgian longsword school. The distances-boundaries had to be changed due to the difference of the size of the weapons. Different boundaries for the blade fight and different limits for the stick fighting.
Following thought and study, the following were introduced: Race begins with the one leg (both opponents) entering the arena, there is no greeting or some other sign. Both legs of a fighter if they are found out of the arena equate to death.
Targets that are equivalent to death are:
• Stubbing the heart.
• Cutting or hitting the head.
• Cutting or stubbing the area of the throat and the carotids.
• Cutting or stubbing the area of the knee (due to your loss of mobility).
• Two cuts in the hand holding the knife (2nd warning don't spread your hand).
If both fighters' legs enter the arena then stays in the arena. Be careful this position is difficult because you have a limitation of movement, and you have to be absolutely sure you can hit your opponent to "finish" him.
There are no protective gear except protective goggles. The fights are given with "hard nok training knives" and padded sticks. The goal of the arena is to teach you, focus, and to respect the blade. To not attack like a "madman" by sacrificing everything without understanding what's happening around you. You can attack with whatever strategy you choose.
The fights are limited, only for CCFB members. We do not participate in shows or open fights as what we want from such conflicts is to improve our technique and strategy and not to recieve any type of glory, because we lose orientation. An important skill is the eye and the development of regional vision. During the battle the targets can be changed dynamically, also the strategy will change dynamically.
If the opponent finds himself in weak spot, we do not stop attacking, because that's what we want, to evolve our attack to the end. There are several scenarios of battle evolution, which I will not analyze here.
